Day Two of FPSC โ our two-day public speaking experience in Dubai โ is called Own Your Voice. It’s about taking everything you learned on Day One and putting it to the test. It starts with the 60-Second Challenge, where you have one minute to make your voice count.
Why a 60-Second Speech Is the Ultimate Public Speaking Test
Sixty seconds feels short, but it’s long enough to make an impression โ and short enough that there’s no room to hide. It’s the same pressure you face when you introduce yourself in a meeting, answer a question on the spot or pitch an idea.
How to Give a Great 1-Minute Speech
- Start strong. Your first sentence should grab attention. Skip “Um, soโฆ” and go straight to your point.
- Stick to one message. One clear idea beats three rushed ones.
- Use your voice and body. Pause, vary your tone and stand with presence โ the performance skills you practised on Day One.
- Finish with intention. End on a line people will remember instead of trailing off.
Feeling nervous about it? Try these 5 ways to feel more confident before you speak.
What Happens After the 60-Second Challenge
After the 60-Second Challenge, you’ll team up for the FPSC Team Challenge, then celebrate at the FPSC Finale with awards, certificates, group photography and a celebration of everything you’ve accomplished.
